The TON community has officially voted to rename Toncoin ($TON) to Gram ($GRAM), with 81.22% of community votes supporting the proposal. The rebrand is designed to strengthen the cryptocurrency's identity within the Telegram ecosystem, while the blockchain itself will continue to be known as The Open Network ($TON).
The good news? If you're a Busha user, you don't need to do anything.
What is changing?
Only the token name and ticker are changing:
- Toncoin ($TON) ➜ Gram ($GRAM)
- The blockchain will continue to operate as The Open Network (TON).
Your assets remain the same; the only difference you'll notice is the new ticker, $GRAM.
What do I need to do?
Nothing.
Busha will handle the entire migration automatically on your behalf. Your TON balance will be converted to GRAM at a 1:1 ratio, so every 1 TON you own will become 1 GRAM.
There is no need to:
- Swap your tokens
- Bridge your assets
- Transfer funds to another wallet
- Update your holdings manually
We'll take care of everything behind the scenes.
Will my balance change?
No.
Your balance will remain exactly the same after the migration. Only the asset name and ticker will change from $TON to $GRAM.
What happens on Busha?
Once the migration is complete, $GRAM will seamlessly replace $TON across the Busha platform.
This includes:
- Buying and selling GRAM
- Sending GRAM to external wallets
- Receiving GRAM into your Busha wallet
- Portfolio balances and transaction history
- Any other Busha services that currently support TON
Your experience will remain unchanged apart from seeing $GRAM instead of $TON.
Will this affect other Busha products?
No. All other Busha products and services will continue to operate as usual.
You can continue to enjoy:
- Crypto trading
- Crypto transfers
- Airtime purchases
- Data purchases
- Cable TV subscriptions
- Electricity bill payments
- Other utility payments
Please note that Busha Loans continue to support $BTC, $ETH, $SOL, $USDT, $USDC, and $USDT only.
Why is $TON becoming $GRAM?
The rebranding follows a community governance vote in which 81.22% of participants supported renaming the cryptocurrency to $GRAM. The goal is to create a stronger, more recognizable identity for the token within Telegram's growing ecosystem while maintaining the same underlying blockchain infrastructure.
