Pamela Ocheje walked into the Busha community in September 2024 as a graphic designer who was still figuring out her place in the crypto world. A few months later, she was planning campus events, designing content for community calls, and speaking to rooms full of people about something she genuinely believes in. This is her story.
A chaotic start
Pamela’s first encounter with crypto was in 2022 after she attended a Web3 event. It sparked something, but nothing concrete came from it. It was not until 2024, during what she calls the “TG airdrop saga,” that she became intentional about learning.
“If I’m being honest, it was fuelled by FOMO at that point,” she admits. “But I was excited to join a community filled with newbies, OGs, and people willing to provide guidance.”
The moment it clicked
Pamela’s “aha moment” came during her first community call. She can’t recall the exact topic, but she remembers exactly how it made her feel.
“I felt like I was part of something bigger,” she says. That feeling stuck. And it is what kept her showing up, week after week.
Showing up and giving back
Since joining, Pamela has been one of the most consistent creative voices in the community. Her contributions include:
- Designing visuals for community calls, posts, and announcements
- Writing posts that resonate with other members and keep conversations going
- Planning and executing a Campus Hangout as part of her role as a Campus Ambassador
- Inviting people into the community and personally encouraging them to attend community calls and LearnShop sessions
What the community taught her about her craft
One session changed how Pamela thinks about her work. It was a marketing-focused LearnShop that reframed how she sees the service she offers as a designer.
“It really changed my perspective on how I view the service I offer and the best way to go about making my skills a marketable product,” she explains.
That shift in mindset is exactly what the Busha community is designed to spark. Professionals in different fields show up to share knowledge, and members like Pamela leave with perspectives they can act on immediately.
Leading, even when it was uncomfortable
As a Campus Ambassador, Pamela took on something she had never done before: planning a campus event from start to finish. She quickly learned that execution is a lot more complex than it looks from the outside.
“I learnt a lot about event planning and how it takes more than what we see on the surface level to properly execute an event,” she says. She also credits Raji, the Community Manager, for providing the support she needed throughout the process.
Beyond event planning, she has also grown into public speaking, now regularly inviting others into the community and leading conversations she would not have felt ready for before.
Staying consistent is the hardest part
Pamela is candid about her biggest challenge: showing up consistently. It is something many community members relate to. But she has not been navigating it alone.
“I’ve had community members reach out once in a while to show support, and it means a lot,” she shares.
That support system is one of the things that makes the Busha community different. You are not just joining a group; you are joining people who genuinely want to see you keep going.
More confident, in every room
Ask Pamela what has changed most since she joined, and her answer is simple: confidence. In herself and in her work.
“There is this confidence that comes with knowing that you’re not just part of a community but a movement,” she says. “The Busha Tribe is a force and we’re not slowing down anytime soon.”
Her advice to you
If you are just joining the Busha community or thinking about taking your involvement more seriously, Pamela’s message is direct:
“Just start. Things might seem messy and not all put together, but start regardless. Post that content, show up consistently, offer value, and always be ready to receive value as well. People are always watching and willing to offer opportunities to those who are ready.”
Pamela’s journey is proof that you do not need to have everything figured out before you show up. You just need to start and let the community meet you where you are.
